Why thank you. It’s especially nice to hear from someone who works in exactly the area I am writing about. The blind-spot issue occurred to me before the echoes of the first mention of TDD I had ever heard had died away.
I’ve seen it so many times; I write a feature, I test it like crazy, seems perfect, ask a coworker to try and he breaks it in 30 seconds. He tries something I hadn’t thought of.
The industry has gone deranged. I’ve just been arguing on Twitter with a guy who says he’s never heard of anyone being compelled to do pair programming. Three hours of it left me with PTSD and 11 years later I am in therapy for it.
Noboby can concentrate so they write lousy code with lots of bugs; instead of demanding fewer interruptions they spend all their time writing tests. It’s fucking crazy. And I hate unit testing, it’s so much work and there is so much bullshit around it.
