Pair programming is sadism and should be against the law.
I only work from home but were I in an interview and he mentioned PP I would get up and walk out. This is the stupidest idea ever in an industry that revels in stupid ideas.
The only good pair programming is not doing it.
Talked with a former manager about this; his company imposed this XP horseshit; his entire senior development staff came to him and said that if they pair programming continued they were all quitting. The junior ones were too timid to assert themselves that way and several of them ended up in psychiatric therapy.
The one time I did it at Microsoft I quit my job the next day. Eleven years later I still get the creeps thinking about it. And I’m no delicate li’l flower, I lift weights over 300 lbs five times a week.
