Like many atheists, I know a lot more about Christian doctrine and history than most Christians, who have only read Timothy and Leviticus, all those juicy Thou Shalt Nots.
Christ was adamantly opposed to a worldly church, his idea of being a Christian was more like the actual meaning of jihad, a deeply personal exploration. All this was betrayed in 325 AD by the Council of Nicea, who put together what we now call the Bible from the pieces they liked and threw out the pieces they didn’t.
They created that great worldly church, with them in charge, astonishingly enough. All guided by God’s hand, of course.
How stupid does one have to be in order to believe all this nonsense?
