I’ve been off the software grid doing freelance solo projects while agile has metastasized and inflected the whole industry. The more I see of it, the less I like it and at this point I don’t like it at all.

My experience with it is limited to morning meetings that turned my 30 minute commute to a 90 minute commute so I could get to a meeting where each attendee reported he was working on the same thing as yesterday,

And the PMs who I knew played FarmVille all day sprayed jargon to put on an appearance of being engaged. “Stories.”

I’m looking for work now and editorializing a lot on here and again and again I run into this idea that planning is done in test code and that cutting corners to meet deadlines is acceptable, since so much time goes into writing stupid unit tests that the actual deliverable takes a back seat, “Technical debt.” (Spits).

I can’t work like this. I’m going back to mobiles if I have to.
