I know several of the languages you mentioned and Go’s requirement of EOL curlies is so clearly the wrong choice that it’s a deal-breaker. I love the inclusion of complex numbers in the runtime but hate the formatting requirements.

Kotlin I have played with a little; JavaScript I had to learn on my last project and it feels like a toy. I detest untyped languages. In C# I replace every var call to an explicit declaration. Django I didn’t even put on my CV because I don’t want to see it ever again.

Legibility is like an undiscovered continent in our work. We spend more time reading code than all other activities combined yet we put up with illegible hen-scratch and stupid ( fads ).
