I would rather write dual native apps. I’ve only worked with React once and briefly; when I found it had no visual editor I stopped. To have to iteratively adjust numerical offsets to design a screen is absolutely intolerable.

Decades ago I took a job at a company doing 3270 emulation software for OS/2 and Windows. Yes, I go back. These two operating systems were practically identical twins but dual platform work was impossible even there. The company had wasted 18 months trying with a pair of DLLs that were supposed to map Windows calls to OS/2 API. I knwe it would never work well enough to ship. They didn’t dig what I had to tell them but, sure enough, I wrote native OS/2 code and knocked down one problem after another. I’d been a developer less than four years.

Also, I hate JavaScript. It’s a toy.
