I take it you’ve never seen anything written by six Tata engineers.
2005 or so I took over a Windows Mobile desktop project that had come from that source; it crashed before it even showed a window and they demanded to get paid. Six of their “senior software engineers” (at least two of those words were false) had worked for a year.
I could open any .cpp file, look 20 lines up or down from anywhere, and see memory leaks. I saw a database table hard-coded in as an array of data structures. MORONS.
After an hour of this I told my manager, “burn it.”
Erase it, throw it away, and don’t you dare give those bozos a dime.
I started from scratch, didn’t use a single line of the original, and had it working with zero bugs in four months, all by myself.
Rewriting their sewage would have taken two years.
