I interviewed at Amazon four times. The first time I did great in the interviews (I did well all four times) but I already knew a lot about solid and clean practices and they got stomach cramps worrying that I wouldn’t be a blank slate. That was really annoying trying to soothe their anxieties. I don’t do that anymore.
The other three times they lost all records of my having been there. I follow up on interviews two days later and even when I named the people I had interviewed with they could find no record of me.
A half dozen times after that I turned down interviews with them. It was a waste of time.
It won’t happen again; I only work remotely now, I’m not going to work in any office with daily scrums, goofy-ass jargon, or “agile methodology.” Not to mention I live on the other side of the worlld.
