I don’t care about games, and Microsoft has been presenting its failures as triumphs as long as they’ve been around.

But yahoo groups is a sad ending. Since Facebook the participation has dropped 99.9% but most of my best online social interactions in the past quarter century were on yahoo groups. Mostly animal lover groups; grief, feline kidney failure, Meyers Parrot, and my own SeattleParrots.

All gone.

In groups like these people sent money to strangers, hauled cages out of burning houses, offered solace to the grieving.

Now we have social networks where people post goddamn emoji.

This really really sucks.
