GitKraken is a game changer, it fills in all the holes in Git. I didn’t use it for commits, we were on TFS by then, but I made a point of reviewing all checkins because I wanted to thoroughly know my way around the code. Also the dev lead we had was a moron and I had to fix everything he checked in (I’m not talking about formatting).
But, yeah, the standard paper code review is a waste of time and the pull request is even worse unless you open the whole branch and look at the changes in context.
I left the USA about the time this Agile horseshit was just getting started, I’ve been soloing WFH ever since from Vietnam, and now I’m getting back because I need new work and Jesus God in his Merciful Heaven, what the hell has happened to software?!? There is no freaking way I could work in an open office and with all the jargon I wouldn’t last a week.
