Am I the only one who sees the selfie phenomenon as sickening?

I sit in the coffee shop having an espresso before my exercise. One girl after another holds up her phone facing her head and smiles. If I walk by her table I see a grid of photos all of her, head tilted at the same angle and with the same smile.

This is creepy. I don't think it's healthy to be so self-absorbed.

And I'm sure every one of these is being posted somewhere.
