All scrum ever did for me was turn my 30 minute commute into a 90 minute commute to get to work early enough to attend an utterly pointless meeting where developers sighed that they were working on the same thing as yesterday and the PMs could spritz Agile Newspeak to put on a show of being “engaged.”

100% impediment.

Since I owned my component, the company’s game installer, I didn’t take part in sprints or their retrospectives but I don’t have to actually attend a meeting to discuss “what we have just learned about teamwork” to know that it would drive me screaming mad.

Any software company that jettisons these fads and returns to a flow-enabling culture is going to put everyone else out of business.
